Fun touch played in Beach Rugby is a modified version of Rugby that is used to introduce the game to the masses and in schools. You only need 5 people in a team, a decently-sized area and a rugby ball to begin playing it. Basically you can play it anywhere!Fun Touch is a high-scoring, fast-paced game that imparts the basics of Rugby Union – passing, running into space, and linking up with your teammates. When your team has possession of the ball, it will have 3 players. Your team will then attempt to out-run, out-pass and out-manoeuvre the defending team to score at the opposite end. The defending team will attempt to slow you down by making 4 touches before your team can score. If your team drops the ball during possesion or the 4 touches have been made, your team will lose the ball to the opposition AND lose 1 player (who will be by the sideline for a turn on attack again). During play, when your team does not have the ball, there will only be 2 players defending the 3 attacking players. Specifically for the beach, each match will only last 5 minutes, and there will be at least 3 games per team. Register for a team and we will fix you up on a fun game this coming festival!
